About Sannula

In Sannula we create a safe medical tech to prevent a tragedy I came across once before when I was a junior nurse where 2 expert nurses get positive infection with hepatitis B virus HBV which ended their career. So the journey begun to find a solution, and the answer was the sannula invention.

How it all came to be…

Starting with the Sannula invention

It is an intravenous access that will be used for giving IV fluids and blood transfusion addressing 3 main occupational hazards.

  • Needle stick injury: risking the nurse life with the blood transmuted disease.
  • Undesirable blood backflow: get contaminated with the patient’s blood
  • Vein rupture: losing the patient’s vein.

With innovative Sannula design it has all the Features of the conventional intravenous access and the new safety ones with none of their disadvantages.

Vision

Towards a safer medical working environment.

Mission

Saving Lives.

According to the WHO, worldwide more than 3 million occupation-related percutaneous injuries occur annually, moreover, about 40% of HBV and HCV infections and 2.5% of HIV infections in health-care workers were due to percutaneous injuries.
Hence, each year, percutaneous injury resulted in around
66,000 HBV infections, 16,000 HCV infections and 1,000 HIV infections, which together caused about
1,100 deaths as well as substantial disability.

This led to the invention of a safety cannula The SANNULA to guarantee solutions to many of the current problems.
